Defending Brooklyn is more than a progressive rock band. They are a band that has mastered their art. They have the substance and sincerity that popular rock music has lost. There is no formula for Defending Brooklyn; they write what they feel and every note counts. It all began in the spring semester of 2004 at Appalachian State University. Jesse (singer/guitarist) met Bryan (drummer) in result of some musical similarities. These two have an amazing chemistry that is really the core of what Defending Brooklyn is. They began writing songs, found a bassist, and 4 months later released "The Death Sessions EP".

Not too long after, Paul (synthesizers), Gordon(rhythm guitar), and a new bassist, Dustin, were added to the band and a new batch of songs were written and released as "The Find". With this EP Defending Brooklyn acquired a large, dedicated following by playing local shows in Boone and other major cities around North Carolina. They shared stages with national acts like He Is Legend (Solid State) and Classic Case (Fearless). Then they accomplished their first East Coast tour from VA to NY. With all of this under their belt, new material written, and a record deal with Split Rail Records, anything can happen...
